St Mary's Church at Outhgill was originally founded in the 14th century as a chapel of ease to St Stephen's Church in Kirkby Stephen. It was extensively rebuilt and endowed by Lady Anne Clifford in 1663, and underwent restorations in 1768, 1879 and 1909.[1] The church is a Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List for England.
