West Newcastle Picture History Collection


West Newcastle Picture History Collection (WNPHC) is a volunteer-led archive containing over 20,000 images and documents relating to the history of west Newcastle upon Tyne. The collection mainly covers Arthur's Hill, Benwell, Elswick, Fenham and Scotswood but also includes Denton Burn, Kenton, Lemington, Newburn, North Walbottle, Throckley and Westerhope. "The West Newcastle Picture History Collection is based in West End Library and is accessible to all.... The collection includes a large selection of images by Jimmy Forsyth but also covers other west end wards in detail. It is open, on request to library staff..."
