Statue of Henry Bolckow, Exchange Square


A statue of Henry Bolckow is located on Exchange Square in Middlesbrough. The statue, by D.W. Stevenson and Sir John Steell, depicts H.W.F. Bolckow holding the Charter of Incorporation of Middlesbrough. It was originally erected in 1881 outside the Middlesbrough Royal Exchange on Marton Road. In 1925 it was relocated to Albert Park. Then in 1986, it was moved to it's current location on the site of the Royal Exchange.[1] The statue is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
