Standing Stones, Doddington Moor
Map showing Doddington (village) and the Standing Stones (to the south-east). Zoom in to see the Scheduled Monument area.
This group of standing stones are located on the high moorland, about 1 mile south-east of the village of Doddington in Northumberland. There are five stones (2 standing, 3 fallen), representing the remains of a stone circle. It is not clear if the two smaller stones are later, or of the original circle. The stones can sometimes be difficult to locate among bracken. The site is close to Standing Stones Camp (hillfort), and lies about ½ mile east of Dod Law West hillfort and ¾ mile south of The Ringses hillfort. The standing stones on Doddington Moor are a Scheduled Monument (legally protected).
