Main Street

Main Street in Cockermouth, runs west from Cocker Bridge over the River Cocker along to Wordsworth House, after which it runs on to Crown Street. The street has several 18th and 19th century buildings, many of which are listed on the National Heritage List for England. A section of the street forms part of the A5292 route; this has a long island on which stands a Statue of the Earl of Mayo. Amongst the notable buildings are the Old Court House and the Gothic-style URC Church.
