Cummersdale
High Cummersdale is a village in the City of Carlisle district of Cumbria, located about 1½ miles south-east of Carlisle city centre. The village includes Cummersdale School, The Spinners Arms, St James' Church, and the Village Hall. The Village Hall building dates from 1893, and along with the church, was originally part of a bacon curing factory. The village and surrounding area form Cummersdale Civil Parish. Historically, Cummersdale was a township in St Mary's Parish, Carlisle, in Cumberland.
CUMMERSDALE, a township, in the parish of St. Mary, liberty and union of Carlisle, E. division of Cumberland, 2¼ miles (S. by W.) from Carlisle; containing 620 inhabitants.
