Cummersdale Primary School


Cummersdale Primary School is located on Cummersdale Road in Cummersdale. It is a community school, with about 100 pupils aged 4 to 11.[1] The date stone on the school building is inscribed: "Cummersdale Board School A.D. 1884" - local School Boards, to set up and manage schools, were established by the Education Act of 1870. A cotton mill school existed prior to this, and was used as the Board School from 1882, until the new school was built.
