Banqueting House (ruins)
The Banqueting Hall in Jesmond Dene, was built 1860-1862, designed by John Dobson for William Armstrong. It was extended to provide a gatehouse (off Jesmond Dene Road), reception hall and display room, in 1869-1870, by Richard Norman Shaw. The ruins of the banqueting hall and extant Tudor/Gothic style gatehouse are Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
