Asheybank Farm, Allendale


Asheybank farmhouse is in a remote location, near the River West Allen, and about ¾miles south-east of Whitfield and 3 miles north-west of Allendale Town. The house dates from the late 16th or early 17th century and includes earier masonary. It was probably a bastle.[1] An outshut was added in the later 17th century and the house was refenestrated in the 19th century. Asheybank farmouse is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
