The library in Annfield Plain was built in 1908. The land for the library was donated by John Wilkinson Taylor, M.P., and the building itself was funded by Andrew Carnegie, who funded many libraries around the world. The Baroque style library is a Grade II listed building.

Co-Curate is a project which brings together online collections, museums, universities, schools and community groups to make and re-make stories and images from North East England and Cumbria.
