Whitehaven Library

Whitehaven Library is located on the corner of Catherine Street and Lowther Street in Whitehaven. The modern part of the library was built on the former site of the Whitehaven Museum in 1970. Adjacnt to this, on Catherine Street, is the older part of the library, which is the former Carnegie Library, built in 1906. The library was previously known as the Daniel Hay Library, named after the former librarian and author of 'An Illustrated History of Whitehaven'.
