The Horse and Farrier, Wigton Road, Carlisle


The Horse and Farrier is a public house at the junction of Wigton Road and Orton Road in Carlisle. The pub is dated 1928, built for the Carlisle and District State Management Scheme, by Harry Redfern. The pub was closed for over 11 years, before being purchased for rennovation as a gastro-pub with a returant and 6 appartments, due to re-open in 2024. The Horse and Farrier is a Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List for England.
