Seaton Delaval Pit c. 1961

  • Description

Pictured not long after closure. The tandem headgear can be clearly seen but not all the shafts are visible in the picture. E & F shafts were disused by the 1930's. The NCB typically bought the fleet of brand new lorries in the photo just before closure to transport coal around the area. Double Row can be seen in the foreground.
