Chaucer Buildings, 53-61 Grainger Street, NE1

  • Description

Built c 1869; probably by Gibson Kyle. A mid-Gothic building with paired and tripled windows that give it an Italian feel. The frontage is irregular, with a central doorway flanked by granite pilasters and a fancy cast-iron canopy, and an enormous three storey gable with massive windows (but on the left side only). The building is Grade II listed. Photo by Mike Quinn, 19 November, 2013, Geograph, CC-BY-SA 2.0
