Raise Hamlet

Raise is located on the west side of the River South Tyne next to Alston, which is on the east side of the river. It is now effectively part of the town of Alston, but is often called Raise Hamlet. Alston War Memorial is located on Raise Bank, to the west of the bridge over the South Tyne, by the A686 and Brampton Road junction. Raise is part of Alston Moor Civil Parish.
