Southburn Dene Railway Viaduct


To the south of Chester-le-Street is a railway viaduct carrying 2 tracks over Southburn Dene. The viaduct was built in 1868 for the North Eastern Railway. It is about 200-metres long, with 8 elliptical arches. The viaduct is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
