Railway Viaducts Between High Level Bridge, Castle Garth And Central Station

Two joining railway viaducts are found a short distance from Central Station in Newcastle. The first goes from the High Level Bridge to Central Station, with an accommodation arch over Queen's Lane. The second viaduct carries the railway line from Castle Garth to Central Station. They were built by Thomas Harrison, engineer for the York, Newcastle and Berwick Railway in c.1890, and William Bell, engineer for the North Eastern Railway. The railway viaducts and accommodation arch are Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
