Old School House, Grindon


The Old School House and Cottage at Grindon, near Haydon Bridge is located on the B6318. A stone in the porch is inscribed "This School and Cottage was Built by Subscription". Whellan's directory of Northumberland for 1855 lists Adam Cranston as teacher at Grindon, at that time.[1] A short distance to the south is the site of Grindon School Roman Camp.
