Methodist Church, 126-132 Linthorpe Road

Built as a Methodist Church and Sunday School in 1892, located on the corner of Linthorpe Road and Borough Road in Middlesbrough. Today the church still operates, as Linthorpe Road Methodist Church & Resource Centre, with the building now also hosting a community resource centre and businesses. The church was originally built for a branch of the Primitive Methodist Society, which previously met in a chapel in Richmond Street, but this had fallen into disrepair. The site selected for the new church, here on Linthorpe/Borough Road, was at that time a rhubarb field on the edge of the town, with few buildings to the south, until you came to the village of Linthorpe.[1]
