Market Place & Greenmarket, Carlisle


The Market Place and adjoining Greenmarket are at the heart of Carlisle city centre. The Market Place is an open space which is formed at the junctions of Castle Street, Fisher Street, Scotch Street and English Street. The medieval Market Cross stands in the Market Place. By the Greenmarket are The Old Town Hall (hosting the Tourist Information office), War Memorial, and Guildhall Museum.
