Deanscales
Deanscales is a hamlet in the Allerdale district of Cumbria, located about 3 miles south-west of Cockermouth. The Old Posting House (inn) is located on the A5086 Cockermouth - Egremont road, at the junction with Kingsthorn Road, which leads up to Deanscales. The farmhouse at Home Farm here dates from the 18th century. Deanscales is part of Dean Civil Parish.
DEAN-SCALES, with Ullock and Pardshaw, a township, in the parish of Dean, union of Cockermouth, Allerdale ward above Derwent, W. division of Cumberland, 3½ miles (S.W.) from Cockermouth; containing 350 inhabitants. The manufacture of linenthread is carried on.
