Cow-causey and Buckton-Burn Turnpike Trust


The Cow-Causey & Buckton Burn Turnpike Trust was established in 1747. It was the earliest Turnpike Trust to be established in Northumberland. It covered (parts of?) the Great North Road, which was the principal route between London and Edinburgh.
