Church of St Paul

St Paul's Parish Church on Park View in Whitley Bay was built in 1864 by Salvin, and paid for by the Duke of Northumberland. The west stained glass window is dedicated to William Wilkinson who died in 1883, son of W.B. Wilkinson of Newcastle, who patented a successful reinforced concrete in 1854. The north aisle first window is by the famed stain glass makers Wailes & Strang. The church has a lych gate, built 1894 by W.S Hicks. The church is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. The church's boundary wall incorporates a drinking fountain, dated 1864, which is also Grade II listed.
