St Mary's Church in Hethersgill was built in 1876. It was originally built as a chapel of ease to St Cuthbert's Church in Kirklington. The church bell, 20 inches in diameter, was donated by John Graham of Rigg Head in 1876 [1] when the church was being constructed.
