Cambo Conservation Area
The Cambo Conservation Area represents a preserved example of a historic, estate-led village in Northumberland, retaining its architectural, social, and landscape value. The village of Cambo, largely remodelled in the late 19th century by Sir Charles Trevelyan, retains its planned layout and historic appearance. The village is closely linked with the famous landscape architect Capability Brown, who received his early education in Cambo. The area includes several listed buildings, including Holy Trinity Church (1842) and a Bastle House (16th century). The conservation area was designated in June 1975. Cambo is now part of the National Trust-managed Wallington Estate.
