Allendale Library


Allendale Library is located on Dawson Place in Allendale Town. The library building is a former Primitive Methodist Chapel, with a date stone of 1878. Adjoining the north end of the library is a building of 1833; this was the original and smaller chapel, later used as a Sunday School, then meeting room. The chapel closed as a place of worship around the 1950s/1960s. The library building is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
