War Memorial, Warcop


The war memorial at Warcop is located in a prominent position on a triangular green at the junction of the B6259, Brookside and Castlehill Road. The memorial was unveiled in 1920 by General Sir Arthur Wynne. It is inscribed with the names of 64 local men who served in the First World War, 11 of whom were killed. Later the names of 5 local servicemen who lost their lives in the Second World War.[1] The memorial is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
