War Memorial, High Hesket
The war memorial in High Hesket is located in the churchyard of St Mary's Church, in a prominent position overlooking the former main road from Penrith to Carlisle. The memorial was unveiled on the 25th of July 1920 by Revd. J Leonard, Vicar of Raughton Head, and dedicated to 9 servicemen from the parish who lost their lives in the First World War. After the Second World War, a further 6 names were added to the memorial. The memorial is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
