Thornby is a hamlet in the Allerdale district of Cumbria, located about 3 miles north east of the town of Wigton and 1½ miles south west of the village of Aikton. Croft Farm at Thorby has a date stone of 1661. Thorby is part of Aikton Civil Parish.
