The Church on the Green, Stamfordham

Stamfordham Uniting Church (known as 'The Church on the Green') is located on Grange Road at the east side of the Village Green in Stamfordham. It is a combined Methodist / United Reformed Church (URC). The building was originally a Wesleyan Methodist chapel. In 1932, Wesleyan, Primitive and United Methodist Churches joined together to become the Methodist Church of Great Britain. Then, in c.2005,  Stamfordham URC united with Stamfordham Methodist Church, meeting in the refurbished Methodist Church. The Old URC chapel, on North Side, is now a private dwelling.
