Stage Door Nightclub, Stowell Street


Now 'The Cosmic Ballroom' nightclub. The building at 20-22 Stowell Street was originally a warehouse, and was converted into a casino known as 'The Bird Cage' in 1966. In 1974 it became 'The Stage Door' nightclub. It's visitors included The Who, David Bowie and Motorhead. In 2006, it was refurbished and rebranded as 'The Cosmic Ballroom'.
