St John The Baptist Church
The earliest documentary evidence of the church at Egglescliffe is from 1085.[1], it was built on the site of earlier Saxon church.[2] The church has a Norman south doorway and C13 chancel arch. The church includes C17 woodwork including roof, pews, screen, choir stalls and panelling and font cover in the style associated with Bishop Cosin of Durham. It is a Grade 1 Listed building. TS16 9BU
