South Tyneside


The metropolitan borough of South Tyneside was formed on 1 April 1974. As part of a local government reorganisation the new metropolitan borough merged together the County Borough of South Shields, the municipal borough of Jarrow and the urban districts of Boldon and Hebburn from County Durham.

Co-Curate is a project which brings together online collections, museums, universities, schools and community groups to make and re-make stories and images from North East England and Cumbria.
