School's out - forever!

  • Description

Shields Gazette, 2nd April, 2007. "AFTER 35 years King George V School has closed. Thousands of South Tyneside students have been taught at the Nevinson Avenue school in South Shields, but it will merge with Brinkburn School after the Easter break. THE end of term marked the end of an era for King George V School. It closed its doors on Friday for end of term and when it reopens after Easter it would have merged with Brinkburn to create South Shields Community School under the leadership of former head Dr John Frain. In September kids will head off to the former Brinkburn site in McAnany Avenue while the bulldozers move in at King George....."
