Fog on the Tyne

  • Description

"Those were the days - when nobody would have envisaged a clean river, clean air, the Millennium Bridge, The Baltic, The Sage, The Queen Elizabeth Bridge and Metro, and this being a place for highly desirable hotels, apartments, Law Courts, and catering establishments. Shipping still coming almost beneath the Tyne Bridge to be discharged, with no thought of container vessels. Taken with a Box Brownie cammera. And I'd never have thought I would be taking this photo over 50 years later with a hand held device that was a telephone, torch, calculator, satellite positioning device, television and radio receiver, and much more; http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5174480" Photo by Chris Morgan, 1963.
