Parson Shields Bridge, Knarsdale

Parson Shields Bridge is a single track steel girder bridge across the River South Tyne. It carries a minor farm road leading off the A689 about ¼mile north of Slaggyford, crossing the river to Parson Shields farm on the east side of the river. It is thought that this may be the temporary Bailey Bridge erected during repairs to Eals Bridge in 1972 and re-erected here to link the farm with the main road.[1]
