Old Grammar School, Kirkby Stephen


The old Grammar School building is located on Vicarage Lane in Kirkby Stephen. The coursed rubble building has a bellcote to it's south end and a brick chimney on it's north end. The Grammar School was founded 1566. Kirkby Stephen Grammar School is now located on Christian Head (road) in the town. The old Grammar School building is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. In recent times the former school building is being used as Kirkby Stephen Local links Community and Council Centre.
