Old Church
The old Church of St Martin at Brampton, Carlisle, was built in the 12th century by the River Irthing on the site of a Roman fort. The church is located on Old Church Lane, almost a mile and a half to the west of the centre of the Brampton. It was later replaced by the larger and more central Church of St Martin. The old church is Grade II* listed on the National Heritage List for England.
