Nos. 5-61, St Nicholas Street, Carlisle


Nos. 5-61, St Nicholas Street in Carlisle are a terrace of 28 houses, built in the 1840s and early 1850s. The terrace features Flemish bond brickwork. Houses are paired with left and right doors, many in their original pilastered surrounds. Each pair of houses is separated from the next by a round-arched through-passageway to court behind. Nos. 5-61, St Nicholas Street are Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. The corner property, No.61, is the former White Ox Inn, with its signage still seen on the rounded corner with Woodrouffe Terrace.
