Newburn Manor Primary School


Newburn Manor Primary School is located on Millfield Lane in Newburn. It has about 200 puplis aged 4-11. It converted to an academy, under ONE (Owl North East) Trust, in January 2024.[1] The main school building dates from c.1890.

Whellan's 1855 directory of Northumberland states: "NEWBURN SCHOOL was built in 1822, it bears the following inscription :- "Erected by Hugh, Duke of Northumberland, Lord of the Manor. Hugh Taylor, Bailiff,"[2] This earlier school was possibly at a different site.
