Manor House, Newburn

A house traditionally called the Manor House was located on the West side of what is now Station Road in Newburn, shown on the First edition Ordnance Survey plan (1840's). The building was said to date from c.1600. It was demolished in 1909; two fireplaces from the manor were reinstalled at Washington Old Hall.[1] Whellan's 1855 directory of Northumberland lists Thomas Finney, a surgeon, as resident of the Manor House.[2]
