Mortal Man Inn, Troutbeck
The Mortal Man Inn in Troutbeck is a pub, restaurant and provides accommodation. The inn is located on the old coaching route between Windermere and Ullswater, and was first documented in 1689. It was originally called The White House. The present building is largely Victorian and was extended in c.1890 to cater for the growing numbers of tourists in the Lake District. The Mortal Man is a Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List for England.
