Millom Infant School


Millom Infant School is located on Lapstone Road in Millom. The school has about 100 pupils from ages 4 to 7. Millom Infant School opened in 1970. The school building dates from c.1876, when it was Lapstone Road Board School. This had separate schools for boys and girls. It was built following the Education Act of 1870 which provided for the establishment and part-funding of "board schools" (i.e. not boarding schools) run by local School Boards.
