Milestone, A66, west of Bowes Cross Farm


There is an old Milestone on the north side of the A66 by the Holcim Durham plant, about 1¼ miles east of Bowes. The milestone was errected by the Middleton-tyas Lane to Greta Bridge and Bowes Turnpike Trust, in the 19th (possibly 18th) century.
