Middlehaven
Middlehaven was once the hub of Middlesbrough’s industrial development, symbolised by the old Dock Clock Tower. After a period of decline and dereliction of the docks, Middlehaven is now the site of a major regeneration scheme. The area includes the Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough College, Temenos, the 'Boho Zone', the distinctive Tees Transporter Bridge, new housing and recriation facilities. The Tees Valley Regeneration company (2002-2010) co-ordinated much of the redevelopment of Middlehaven, employing architect Will Alsop, to develop a masterplan. The regeneration continues, led by Middlesbrough Council.
