Ketton Packhorse Bridge
Ketton Packhorse Bridge is located off Ketton Lane, to the north of Darlington. The bridge dates from the late 17th or early 18th century and crossed the River Skerne. However, the course of the river changed and now runs to the south of the bridge. It is a narrow sandstone hump-backed bridge. A small cast-iron plaque at the south end of the bridge, in raised letters states "KETTON ROAD ENDS"[1] (this is one of several cast-iron boundary markers on the Ketton Road[2]). The bridge is a Scheduled Monument and Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
