Iron Turntable overlooking the Cut, Seaton Sluice

There is an old cast iron turntable overlooking The Cut, and opposite the Kings Arms, at Seaton Sluice. The turntable dates from the 18th or early 19th century. It has a circular plate with central rotating platform on pivot and was originally used in monitoring the passage of vessels through The Cut, for which a toll was charged. The old turntable is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
