Hyssop Holme Well

Hyssop Holme Well in Stanwix, Carlisle, is located just off the footpath which runs south parallel to Cavendish Terrace and a short distance to the north-west of Carlisle Cricket Club. The red sandstone well is dated 1817 and draws from a natural spring. In the past, water from the spring was used to supply hot and cold water baths nearby. The well was repaired in 1986 and restored again in 2016. Hyssop Holme Well is Grade II listed on the Natural Heritage List for England.
