Grains O'th' Beck, Lunedale

Grains O'th' Beck is a farm, located about 11 miles west of Barnard Castle, and  situated by the confluence of Long Grain (river) and Lune Head Beck, which join to form the River Lune. There are two 18th century rubble stone bridges here on the B6276 road; Grains O'th' Beck Bridge (over the Long Grain) and Far Beck Bridge (over Lune Head Beck). Both bridges are listed on the National Heritage List for England. Crosshill Stone is a Medieval wayside cross here. There is also an interesting old milepost, just north of Grains o'th' Beck Bridge.
