Gainford CofE Primary School

Gainford CofE Primary School on Low Road in Gainford was originally built in 1857 as a National School linked with the close by St Mary's Church. Today, it is a voluntary controlled school with about 80 pupils aged 3 to 11.[1] There was once another school in Gainford, the other being Bowman’s Gainford Academy, a private boarding school founded in 1818; the building is now Academy Theatre.
